The experience of being able to teach elementary school kids in enough counties was like nothing else. All 15 of the UGA students were divided in groups and each group was given a topic that they were to teach to the students. My group had the opportunity to teach sound which turned out to be…

    March 31, 2020

So, besides going to the primary school and teaching the children, this was probably my favorite day of the trip. On Monday, not everything went as planned with the school due to the virus (they just needed to sign some new paperwork) but we made the best of it and visited a castle and we…

I decided to go on this trip mainly since it was youth engagement in agriculture, and I am an agricultural education major. I also am friends with someone that went last year and it seemed like a really cool experience. When it was time to apply for the trip, I had just transferred to UGA…

The most exciting aspect of the trip was learning about the actual daily living experience in Uruguay and not just visiting tourist sites. I did not know what to expect from Uruguay. From the owners of the farms to the street vendors and waiters, everyone we met was kind, accepting and passionate about their community…

    Cindy Burciaga

    March 31, 2020

While planning my travels, I was a mixture of emotions. I had concerns about what I needed to pack, about what I needed to wear, and about how covid-19 might affect our trip. However, no matter the concern, I had an enormous amount of excitement for the experiences I was about to have. The most…

  • Weekend Trip to Berlin

    Luke Vazzano

    March 31, 2020

Well, when people told me it was easy to travel around Europe once you’re there, I had no idea how easy it actually would be! Just a couple of weeks into my exchange, a few of my friends said that they were thinking of taking a weekend trip to Berlin, so I decided to join…

I have to admit, I’m a little sad writing this post. This was the last trip I was able to take during my exchange, and it was the last time I will see many of these friends for a very long time. But first, I’ll tell you how wonderful the trip itself actually was! Since…

    Luke Vazzano

    March 31, 2020

Wow, talk about ups and downs! I wanted to take some time to reflect upon the first few weeks of my exchange program in Zürich, Switzerland, because so much has happened already! After my first day of arrival and subsequent jet lag (yes, it is very real) I had dinner with the other UGA students…

    Leah Hardigree

    March 30, 2020

We went to an agricultural university’s farm on our first full day in Dumfries, Scotland. As an Animal Science major, it was really interesting to see how similarly their farms operate compared to ours. It felt like I was back at the UGA farms. If anything, the only major difference was their technology. They had…

    March 30, 2020

We went to Scotland to teach Primary School students about Food Chains. The way they operate is pretty different from the way America’s Elementary Schools do. In fact, it reminded me more of what school was like in Japan because they focus more on building individuals rather than focusing so much on just education. They…
