Health promotion and science communication is a critical part of ensuring rural communities engage in healthy eating and policy is supported that increases access to healthier foods in rural areas. However, little is known on how communication behaviors influence self efficacy related to healthy eating choices. In a recent Lamm Lab study as part of the Healthier Together project, undergraduate researcher, Saher Dossani, as part of her UGA CURO project alongside Kristin Gibson and Dr. Lamm, sought to identify those communication determinants to healthier living amongst rural Georgia residents. Dossani showcased her findings this week during a poster session at the Southern Rural Sociological Society annual meeting in Atlanta, GA.
