Kennedy Mayfield-Smith, currently an Agricultural Communication Coordinator with the National Wildlife Federation, served as a graduate research assistant in the Lamm Lab from fall 2019 to spring 2021.
Kennedy received her Master of Agricultural and Environmental Education with a focus in Communication from the University of Georgia in spring 2021 and her Bachelor of Applied Sciences in Animal Sciences from Tuskegee University in 2018.
Kennedy’s thesis, titled Communicating About Climate Science Using Social Media: Exploring Discourse, Information Seeking and Climate Change Knowledge, received the 2022 Runner-Up Outstanding Thesis Award from the Association for Communication Excellence.
