Dr. Alexa Lamm recently visited with the UC Davis CLEAR Center to tour their facilities and explore several opportunities for future collaborations.  The Clarity and Leadership for Environmental Awareness and Research Center, or CLEAR Center, helps the animal agriculture industry operate more efficiently while lessening its impact on the environment and climate. The primary research topic covered is quantifying and mitigating greenhouse gas emissions from livestock.

Dr. Lamm sat down with Associate Director of Communications, Joe Proudman, to discuss their science communication efforts which he detailed were based in 5 sustainability goals. Tune in to the Lamm Lab AgriCurious podcast soon to hear their discussion and learn more about the CLEAR Center research and science communication initiatives including how they strive to address these five areas by highlighting graduate student research and their 60+ undergraduate interns!

Directed by Dr. Frank Mitloehner, the CLEAR Center has spent the last 6 years working with the dairy, beef, and (more recently) pork industries. Lamm and Proudman shared thoughts on how to build trust within the pork industry as part of the Real Pork Trust Consortium and are looking forward to creating collaborative science communication efforts focused on how to most effectively share the science behind sustainable pork production in the future.
