Lamm Lab team members Catherine Sanders (former), Kristin Gibson, Allison R. Byrd, Tatevik Markosyan, and Alexa J. Lamm worked to identify the best ways to communicate with rural Georgia residents about their health – including increasing physical activity and eating healthier foods – as part of the CDC funded Healthier Together project. Through their efforts, a research article titled Exploring the Social Media Health Information Seeking Patterns of Rural Residents to Provide Communication Strategies for Extension was published in the Journal of Applied Communications. At the annual international Association for Communication Excellence meeting in Salt Lake City, UT it was announced their article was named the Journal Article of the Year.
