Biography
Emily G. Armstrong is a Double Dawg in the College of Public Health at the University of Georgia.
With the Lamm Lab, Emily worked on the Healthier Together project as part of the field work team. She assisted with focus groups and survey collection in the five rural communities for project evaluation and was a UGA CURO scholar in the Lamm Lab during the 2022-2023 academic year.
Emily received Bachelor of Science in in Health Promotion with a minor in Global Health in Summer 2023. Emily completed an MPH in Epidemiology with in Spring 2024. In addition to her work with the Lamm Lab, she was also an undergraduate researcher on the CPC Map Project under Dr. Danielle Lambert and Dr. Andrea Swartzendruber.
Research Interests
There are so many parts of public health Emily loves, but her current research interests lie in health disparities, social determinants of health, global health, nutrition and diet, chronic diseases, and maternal and child health. Specifically, Emily enjoys looking at how things like disparities and socioeconomic status affect health outcomes, and what tools and changes we can make to improve these situations.
