Allison has been working this past year to identify the best strategies for communicating agricultural and environmental science to prospective graduate students, an important and often overlooked audience for Colleges of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. She interviewed top notch students from every department in the UGA CAES to identify where they went for scientific information during their graduate school search. She also identified important differences between domestic and international students, which were similar despite their area of interest within the college. Results indicated a need for faculty to engage with prospective students, how important campus visits are, key things departments can do with their websites, and just how much Lab websites (like this one) are when a student is searching for the right place to get their graduate degree.
