A big congratulations to Allison Byrd as she passed her comprehensive exams and successfully defended her dissertation proposal yesterday. Allison will be working on research examining the most effective ways to communicate science out of Colleges of Agriculture to ensure the best and brightest prospective graduate students have the information they need when seeking a graduate program. Considering the large amount of research conducted by graduate students, getting the right ones to apply and commit to a program is essential. Allison’s research will help all of us as we strive to find the brightest minds, ensuring a future food supply and sustainable environment.

A big thank you to her doctoral committee Dr. Kevan Lamm, Dr. Jessica Holt, and Dr. Rochelle Sapp. Allison’s research would not be possible without the support of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Science Associate Dean for Research, Dr. Harsha Thippareddi
