Bibliography
Gabriel’s story began in western Paraná, Brazil, a region where agriculture is a part of everyday life. Growing up there naturally got him interested in the agricultural sector and inspired him to explore how research, innovation, and public perspectives intersect, and how effective communication can support informed decision-making. Gabriel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Western Paraná State University (UNIOESTE) in Brazil.
Research Interests
Gabriel’s research interests include examining how scientists can communicate most effectively with agricultural producers so that science can be directly applied to assist in solving real-world problems on farm.
Current Projects
Gabriel is currently working on research projects exploring how we most effectively communicate about invasive species. He will be involved in conducting listening sessions with wine grape growers across the U.S. to determine how research teams made up of plant pathologists and entomologists develop science-based best management practices which will mitigate the impacts of the Spotted lanternfly (SLF).
