Biography

Gracie is a master’s student in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at the University of Georgia. She recently graduated from UGA with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal and Dairy Science. During her undergraduate career, she was actively involved in UGA Block and Bridle and the UGA Young Farmers and Ranchers. She also served on the CAES Student Philanthropy Council and was selected as a First-Cohort CAES Rural Scholar. Gracie competed on the 2023 UGA Meat Judging Team, gaining national recognition for her efforts, and later expanded her policy experience as a 2024 CAES Congressional Agricultural Fellow in the Office of Congressman Sanford Bishop in Washington, D.C. Most recently, she served as the 2025 American Meat Science Association Communication and Education Intern, where she supported the organization’s outreach efforts. For the past two years, Gracie has proudly represented the college as a CAES Ambassador, a role she is excited to continue in this year.

Research Interests

Gracie’s research interests center on communication within meat science and production animal agriculture, with a focus on bridging the gap between industry practices and public understanding. She is particularly interested in how strategic communication can be used to educate consumers about the nutritional value and safety of meat, encouraging greater trust in our nation’s food supply.
