Health promotion and science communication is a critical part of ensuring rural communities engage in physical activity and policy is supported that increases access to healthier foods in rural areas. However, many barriers exist that need to be identified and overcome. In a recent Lamm Lab study as part of the Healthier Together project, undergraduate research, Rose Tran alongside Kristin Gibson and Dr. Lamm, sought to uncover the barriers to healthier living amongst rural Georgia residents. Tran showcased her findings this week during a poster session at the American Public Health Association meeting in Atlanta, GA.
