**DISCLAIMER: I’m vegan.** Before I left for Spain I was kind of worried about what I would be eating while I was there. Spain has lots of ham. A LOT of it. We were still staying with host families who knew our dietary restrictions and who would be cooking for us, but as for going…

    June 19, 2019

WOW! What a trip! Spain is definitely my favorite place to visit inside of Europe (probably because of how perfect the weather is there). This was my second time traveling to Spain, my fourth time traveling to Europe, and it is a different experience each time I travel. Traveling is something I am very passionate…

Throughout my Maymester in Spain, we visited lots of different farms. We visited farms where they grew all sorts of fruits such as avocados, mangoes, bananas, nísperos, and cherimoyas. We visited different research centers that grew avocado and mango fruit trees, that grew dragonfruit (I had never seen a dragonfruit plant before so that was…

  • Take a Day Trip to Orvieto

    Daniel McMillan

    June 19, 2019

We had a lot of great material packed into this trip, so we did not have much time to go on our own trips, but we did have about 4 different days we were able to travel or do what we wanted. I would highly recommend traveling to Orvieto if you are in Italy. This…

    Ashli Campbell

    June 12, 2019

Before traveling to Spain, I had never been out of the country. I have lived in Georgia my whole life and traveling to a foreign country without my family was honestly pretty scary for me. I was super stressed about the language barrier and figuring out how to navigate around a city when I didn’t…

    June 11, 2019

Only a week after having taken my last final, I boarded an airplane and was off to explore the wilderness of Costa Rica! I was very apprehensive going into this 14-day excursion. I do not speak Spanish, and I was worried I would not be able to communicate at all with the Ticos and Ticas…

It happened. The day I have been training for. The day I could express my inner Lorelai Gilmore and eat until I could no longer move. This is one of those unbutton your pants before you eat kind of meals. One of those meals you will instantly regret on the walk back to the hotel,…

The gardens on this study abroad are very amazing and they take your breath away as you walk through them. There are many gardens that we visited while we were gone, and each one of them was unique. Most of them told a story as you journeyed through them, and each sculpture, plant, and fountain…

    June 10, 2019

While everything still fit in my maximum size suitcase when I arrived at the airport in Dublin, Ireland, the weight of my bag was significantly over the allowed maximum when I got to the counter to check it. I could have gotten out of line, thrown some things away, and waited in the 45 minute…

    June 10, 2019

During our study abroad we traveled all over the northern part of Costa Rica, trying to explore all sorts of different ecosystems ranging from cloud forest to saltwater wetlands. Every place had unique species that had adapted to survive in the environment, but one of my favorite places was the Caribbean lowland rain forest…
