This past May I studied abroad with thirteen other students for sixteen days. Throughout this trip  we were able to tour around multiple different cities in Scotland, as well as some notable sites in London, England. While we were in Scotland we visited Dumfries, Glasgow, Isle of Skye, Inverness, and Edinburgh. It felt like every…

  • Roadtrip to Delft

    June 29, 2023

While studying abroad, there were a few travel days to get to our next major stop in the trip. However, my favorite travel day included a final destination to Delft, Netherlands with two amazing scheduled detours. Royal FloraHolland, the largest flower auction in the world, was the first detour, and it was a ten out…

  • A Tale of Two Gardens

    Camden Grady

    June 29, 2023

When thinking about French gardens, two prominent names immediately come to mind – the formal Gardens of Versailles and the informal gardens at Giverny. These iconic landscapes showcase contrasting styles, each offering its own unique charm. The Gardens of Versailles, located just outside Paris, are a testament to opulence and grandeur. The main axis, known…

  • A Paddle Boat Through Amsterdam

    Camden Grady

    June 29, 2023

On the Flowers and Photography trip, there were so many tours and historical sites that the faculty planned on the program. Still, my favorite thing I was able to experience was the paddle boat ride my friends and I decided to do when we had a free afternoon in Amsterdam.  One of the key takeaways…

    June 29, 2023

If there is any advice I could have for packing before going on a study abroad, it would be to pack a variety of clothing for different seasons. The suitcase I packed to go on my study abroad trip to The Netherlands included a lot of summer clothing. However, I quickly realized my mistake in…

  • Facing New Challenges in Ecuador

    Russell Chesnut

    June 29, 2023

During my trip to Ecuador and the Galápagos, I traveled by air, land and water to appreciate the natural sights that the country had to offer.   On our first day in Quito, we took the Teleférico gondola lift up to Pichincha Volcano, which was the highest elevation we would reach during our trip. At…

  • Picking Coffee in the Cloud Forest

    Russell Chesnut

    June 29, 2023

During our stay at the Maquipucuna cloud forest reserve in Ecuador, we got to taste the ecolodge’s sustainably grown coffee and see where it was cultivated. Our class visited the Orongo coffee plantation where we got to try our hand at harvesting coffee. We carefully walked on the steep incline where arabica plants grew and…

    June 29, 2023

I never thought much about being a teacher or what it takes to be a teacher, that is until I got to become one for the Youth in Agriculture Study Abroad in Scotland. After this experience, I have gained a whole new appreciation towards educators and what it takes to become one. Going into this…

  • A Trip Around the Scottish Highlands and the Isle of Skye!

    Micayla Moffitt

    June 29, 2023

Picture this, a rugged landscape, medieval castles, crystal clear waterfalls, and outstanding scenery! It is a place I had only ever seen in TV shows, movies, and pictures, one where I never thought I would get to experience in person. The months before departing for Scotland left me feeling anxious, but excited about what I…

    Ashley Gatto

    June 27, 2023

As my time here in Brazil is starting to come to an end, I have taken time to start to reflect on my experiences here. I still remember the first day I arrived. I was overwhelmed and scared to be in such a new environment in a different country where I don’t speak the primary…
