Biography
Megan Meyer is a master’s student in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at the University of Georgia. Megan is studying agricultural leadership, education, and communication, and has research interests in science communication. Megan grew up on a dairy farm in southeastern Minnesota, where she fell in love with agriculture and rural America. In May of 2025, Megan graduated from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, where she studied agricultural communication and marketing with minors in agricultural business and animal science. The University of Minnesota was the perfect place for Megan to gain leadership experience. On campus, Megan was involved in many different organizations, including the Agricultural Education, Communication & Marketing (AECM) club, AECM ambassadors, Gopher Dairy Club, Beta of Clovia sorority, the National Agri-Marketing Association, and the livestock sustainability lab. She was a member of the University of Minnesota dairy judging team. Megan also got incredible internship experiences through Minnesota Pork and Compeer Financial during her time at college. Leadership, communication, and animal health are some of Megan’s passions, and it all started on a dairy farm in Minnesota. In the future, Megan hopes to return to the dairy industry, and use her knowledge and skills to help farmer’s and their cows reach their fullest potential while advocating for farmers at the state and national level.
Research Interests
Often, farmers don’t understand the research that their checkoff dollars are being used for, and bridging that gap will build trust within the entire industry. Megan’s research interests include finding ways to communicate to farmers why research is being done on specific topics within their respective industries.
