Biography

Masoud is a researcher in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at the University of Georgia.

Under the expert mentorship of Prof. Alexa Lamm, Masoud’s research explores the dynamic intersection of agriculture, environment and risk communication, and the human dimensions of agriculture and natural resource management. Their work is centered on fostering stakeholder engagement and advancing the adoption of sustainable environmental practices.

Before joining UGA, Masoud earned a Ph.D. in Agricultural Extension and Education from Shiraz University, Iran. Their groundbreaking doctoral research focused on the decision-making processes of farmers regarding water conservation. This experience laid the groundwork for a distinguished career in conservation social science, where Masoud has rigorously examined the social and behavioral dimensions of water management—including conservation, pollution, governance, and the significant impacts of climate change, drought, and flooding. Additionally, Masoud’s research extends to sustainable agriculture and consumer behavior, honed during 12 years as a faculty member at an agricultural sciences and natural resources university in Khuzestan Province, Southwest Iran.

Research Interests

Masoud’s research interests include the intersection of agricultural communication, risk communication, and the human dimensions of natural resource management, with a focus on stakeholder engagement and the adoption of sustainable environmental practices. Their work also explores conservation social science, particularly water management, the impacts of climate change, and consumer behaviors related to sustainable agriculture.
