    Nathan McKinney

    July 3, 2023

Our group was very excited to head into our second full week of activities through our study abroad experience, as all of us looked forward to learning the ways to cook popular Spanish dishes. We started off the cooking class by preparing our vegetables and bread that would be paired with a popular paella dish.…

    July 3, 2023

One thing I was most nervous about with this experience, was the chance to make new friends. It is a bit daunting to think you will be around people you have never met before from your own university for two straight weeks. You will be paired with a roommate for the rest of the trip…

In my previous post, I talked about life pre-departure, but now I will be focusing on the actual trip itself.  And the pictures I include will be of my favorite stops in each country. The Netherlands Our first country we visited was The Netherlands, or Holland as the locals call it. I think this country…

    July 3, 2023

While several people in my family have had successful careers in education, prior to this study away I had no interest whatsoever in teaching, especially kids. Now, I know what you are thinking. Why would I go on a trip to Scotland if the whole purpose was to teach their students agricultural education? Do not…

    Graham Spires

    July 3, 2023

Threave nature reserve in Scotland is a powerful reminder of the importance of environmental awareness and sustainable agriculture. Through my study abroad experience, including a visit to Threave, I gained a global agriculturalist’s perspective on preserving natural resources while ensuring food security for an ever-growing population. Threave nature reserve is a biodiverse haven with woodlands,…

One thing that initially drew me to participating in a UGA study abroad program was that it would be a group of people exploring and traveling together in a new place. I haven’t been able to travel a ton, and actually hadn’t been across the Atlantic until the study abroad program in Morocco, so while…
