Traveling to Ireland was an incredible experience. My family is originally from Ireland so it was a dream to visit the area. Celtic culture is an incredible thing. We learned all about the history of Ireland and the evolution of Celtic culture and religion. I even went on a hike where we saw an old,…

Although it was supposed to be a birding trip in Costa Rica for two weeks, we saw far more than just birds. We saw everything from the terrifying bullet ant to the peculiar peccary. I had no idea what that was, but our guide explained that it was related to the American deer despite the…

    Warren Hix

    July 8, 2019

While in Costa Rica we would go to new locations every few days to try and find new species of birds. Every trip was a new adventure! Most of the roads in Costa Rica are only wide enough for 2 cars and are gravel. Since the country is very mountainous and hilly many of the…

Before coming to Italy, I didn’t really know what to expect when it comes food. I have always loved pasta and pizza but knew that traditional Italian food would definitely not be the same as the American Italian cuisine that I was used to. Of course the first thing that I bought food wise when…

    Courtney Cameron

    July 5, 2019

I knew since my freshmen year that I wanted to participate in the Viticulture and Enology study abroad. I knew to a certain degree I liked wine and wanted to study a unique agricultural industry. This program went above and beyond EVERYTHING I had predicted. First, you truly do learn from planting to fermentation how…

    July 5, 2019

I was very excited to begin my study abroad. I did not feel very nervous, because I had no idea what to expect since it was my first time traveling internationally. It was a little intimidating when I first arrived in Italy to order food since I knew only about two words in Italian. It…

During my time in Costa Rica I saw many different bird species however, one species, in particular, stood out to me – the Ornate Hawk Eagle. This bird did not only stand out because of its beauty but, because of the journey that had to be made to see it. The Journey started when our…

    July 5, 2019

Everyone on our trip was so excited to get to Santorini.  I could only hope that it would be as beautiful as the movies and pictures.  It was more that I could have imagined.  The white and blue landscape and beautiful sunsets were definitely a highlight of my trip. Our first morning in Santorini we…

    Karen Stubbs

    July 5, 2019

Before visiting Greece I knew of some Greek dishes.  Falafel, gyros, and Feta cheese to name a few. I knew that I would fall in love with the ancient architecture since I have been a history buff after taking Latin for five years.  I had no idea that I would fall so in love with…
