Supported by a large, $2-million grant from USDA’s Risk Avoidance and Mitigation Program, we are helping potato farmers in the Pacific Northwest dramatically reduce their need to spray insecticides. This project is a joint effort among the potato industry and university researchers and extension agents, and spans the disciplines of entomology, plant pathology, sociology, and economics.
