    Seafood Vendor in Granada

On Wednesday morning, we went to the Granada coast and toured a local farm where we sampled the farmer’s fresh fruit. During the afternoon, we traveled to the coastal town Salobreña. We spent time enjoying the rocky beach which was a nice break from the sandy coasts that we have here. The weather was beautiful,…

    July 3, 2019

Before going to Spain, I had heard about the amazing fruit from multiple people. They went on and on about how it is one of the top foods I need to try while studying abroad. However, I had never realized that fruit could be this amazing and tasteful. Luckily for me, our study abroad planned…

  • Stop dreaming about your bucket list and start living it!!

    July 3, 2019

I have dreamed of going to the United Kingdom all of my life. When I was about twelve, I redecorated my room at home in UK decor. I had framed pictures of Big Ben and the Tower Bridge. I had a Union Jack flag rug, a red telephone booth bank, and numerous other items filled…

  • Learned about art, gardens and myself

    Acacia Worley

    July 3, 2019

I am, by definition, an introvert. I would rather be by myself than with a group of people any day of the week. In high school, I had my set group of friends, but spent most of my time studying, alone. When I decided to attend UGA, my mother thought it would be a great…

  • Olive Oil Tasting

    Sadie Lackey

    July 3, 2019

I will admit, I am cheap when it comes to grocery shopping. I do not mind sacrificing some quality for a cheaper price. Most everything I buy is off-brand, because I honestly cannot tell a difference. To me, milk is milk, condiments taste the same regardless of brand and not buying well-known brands does not…

  • Living Like a Local

    Sadie Lackey

    July 3, 2019

A large part of my experience in Spain, and arguably the best, was staying with my host family. I along with three other girls stayed in an apartment (or “flat” as they are referred to in Europe) near the center of Granada with a woman named Nadir. She lived with her mother, as she was…

    July 3, 2019

Becoming the first person in my family to attend college was an incredible accomplishment for me in 2015. Amongst the stress of learning about credit hours and dining plans, I never considered the possibility of studying abroad. This May, I conquered another “first” and became the first person in my family to travel abroad! This…

  • The Tastiest Fruit You Will Ever Eat

    Sadie Lackey

    July 2, 2019

Nestled in a valley approximately a mile from the coast of southern Spain sits a produce farm where you can find the best fruit you will ever eat. As we traveled up the winding road to the farm, my study abroad group talked about our excitement to try the fresh mango, bananas and avocados. Spanish…

  • Olive Trees Galore

    Charles Cain

    July 2, 2019

Spain was a major culture shock from the first time I set foot on the foreign soil. One of the first things that I noticed when we arrived to Spain was the insane amount of olive trees that covered the landscape from the airport to Granada. It went on for miles and miles and miles,…

    Amelia Clary

    July 2, 2019

Over the course of three weeks, I travelled to Italy, France, and all around the United Kingdom. And I loved all of the places I got to visit. Each city and country had so many things that were unique and amazing. But, overwhelmingly, my favorite place I visited was Edinburgh, Scotland. First thing in the…
