As much as I did in Costa Rica, one of the experiences that stands out the most is zip lining and bungee jumping in Monteverde. How many people can say they did that? Heights make me a little nervous, but I wasn’t going to pass up on an adventure as great as this. The views were breathtaking, and a lot of us bonded encouraging each other. Setting off through the canopies was such an adrenaline rush, and I can’t believe I actually pushed myself to bungee jump. The first five seconds were terrifying, but I was so proud that I had conquered a fear of mine.
Arenal was one of my favorite places that we went. We got to swim in La Fortuna, a waterfall with healing properties. We also got to hike around Arenal Volcano–the views were extraordinary. Lastly, we got to relax in the hot springs. All around, such a great experience.
Another experience that stands out is strolling through the ocean’s waters in Hacienda Baru. I had never been in the Pacific Ocean before. Let me say that the beaches were so beautiful, especially while watching the sun set at night. It was actually the last place we went before our flight home, so we were all pretty nostalgic. We just couldn’t believe that we had spent the last three weeks in such a beautiful country. It’s really hard to put into words how much my trip meant to me, but I hope you can see some of why I loved my study abroad so much!!
