Hi everyone! My name is Tori Foody and I am a fourth year student at the University of Georgia. I am studying Food Science and look forward to graduating this upcoming May. This past summer I had the opportunity to intern at 1000 Faces Coffee in Athens, GA. I was able to get an understanding about how a small businesses work and became incredibly passionate about coffee. From lessons on roasting to brewing to cupping, my whole summer kept getting me more and more excited for this trip. Ever since freshmen year I have wanted to go on the “From Bean to Cup” trip. I am incredibly excited to not only immerse myself in the Costa Rican culture, but to taste some of the best coffee in the world. The scientist inside me is eager to learn from the amazing Food Science faculty and soak in everything and anything to know about coffee… from bean to cup.
