I am so excited to be back home and transcribe my reflections from my trip from my journal. My pre-trip reflection I wrote in the airport when all the emotions and nerves hit. Here it goes…I have spent some time abroad prior to this trip and really thought I had it figured out, but that was not the case as I wait at the gate. The day before we are supposed to arrive at London-Heathrow, a bomb was found. This has sent all sorts of thoughts and emotions wild. I truly can’t believe we were flying into an area where a potential terrorist attack was carried out. Needless to say, I am very nervous. Besides those nerves, I have an overall heartache, because it’s my first trip out of the country without a good friend by my side. As a researcher on the trip, I haven’t formed many bonds in our lecture components or with this ag ed cohort. I am excited to see how this changes throughout the trip. I have about 30 more minutes until we board-here we go!
