Growing up, my next door neighbors, and parents best friends were from Spain. They owned a small Spanish import company where they imported different cheeses, cured meats, wine, and olive oil, and always talked about how amazing Spain was. I grew up surrounded by the culture, eating different Spanish dishes, eating dinner way later than any other kid my age, and listening to my them speak to their kids in the language. I was mesmerized and dreamed about one day visiting the country that influenced some of the most memorable parts of my childhood. Flash forward to this past June, 3 years after I moved away from home, I finally got the opportunity to visit. Let me tell you, it was absolutely incredible. I have been blessed with a family that loves to travel and have had the opportunity to visit a lot of different places, but hands down, Spain tops the charts. It was everything I imagined it to be and more. The food was delicious, the people were accepting and fun, and siesta in the middle of the day was everything it was cracked up to be. If I could go back tomorrow, I would in a second. I really cant thank the college of Ag enough for making this trip possible and would recommend going on a study abroad trip to anyone who is considering the option!
