I depart for Romania in less than 48 hours and I’m so excited to see what awaits in my first study abroad! Having only been on a touristy cruise, I am ready to experience culture outside of the United States. I imagine Romania has beautiful rolling hills and a lot of castles (thanks to the stories of Dracula). I know that Romania is old, but I’m curious about how well the culture and customs have been preserved. I believe that a lot of history for the US has gotten lost in our drive to constantly move forward so it will be interesting to go somewhere where they don’t let that slip away.
My packing skills are pretty decent, but I am worried I am going to forget something important. Being 1o hours via plane away from home, and in a place where I don’t know the language, forgetting something could be quite the problem.
