Greetings from Costa Rica! So far the trip has been truly amazing. There are a couple of things which have provided some struggles such as spotty wifi and waking up super early. Id like to quote one of my friends on the trip which she said “they are trying to give us the most bang for our buck”. Just like any other morning , yesterday started off bright and early with our first activity at 6:15 am! We went on a nature hike but really the highlight of the day was to come: zip lining! I have never been zip lining but heard it was quite the experience and have been looking forward to going!

As the time approached my heart started racing a bit from excitement and nerves. However, after arriving we geared up and made sure our gear was tight enough and listened to some debriefing and safety procedures! After we did a practice round to get a feel for how zip lining would proceed. The first line was exciting and provided to be a breeze. Afterwards we loaded the sky lift to take us to the top to begin the rest of the seven lines. The first one scared me silly because in the middle of the zip line the wind began turning me to the side which scared me. I got slightly nervous but remained calm and kept my hands securely on the hand bars. The following six lines were a breeze after the first! The only thing was that my face ended up full of dirt somehow from all the misty rain from the cloud Forrest! The excursion was a great addition to the trip!

As I have said the trip has been great so far! Today is our last day at the UGA Costa Rica campus and tomorrow we are off to San Jose! I can’t wait for the rest of the trip and cannot believe how fast time has flown!
