It has been a long trip despite being actually only 19 days! We have been traveling a lot in this short time span, going to 5 countries in just 3 weeks. So at this point I am pretty exhausted. This trip has been truly amazing. I have loved every minute of it. But at this point in time, I am just ready to sleep in my own bed. Europe has definitely opened my eyes to different cultures and truly shown me how different my way of life is compared to others. I am very excited to return home and relax for a little. I can see myself returning to Europe some day but for now I will be happy to be back in the U.S. This trip has been a great break for me and I think I am having more anxiety about returning to the U.S. because I know I have a lot of work that needs to be done in a short period of time. I will be getting my MCAT score back, Med school applications are being released, and I have a lot of work to do for my classes. It feels like vacation is over! My experiences abroad were like nothing I could have expected. Every big monument or garden I have seen on a postcard, I got to see in real life. It was so much fun to see so many places in such a short period of time and I am glad I decided to go on the trip. I took two classes that had nothing to do with my major but I thoroughly enjoyed both of them and it opened my eyes up to different aspects of life and studies. A lot of things I saw abroad such as architecture and garden designs I will probably recognize once I get back to the U.S. because ideas across countries are shared all the time! I am really look forward to being in one place for a little while. We pushed ourselves to the limit on this trip and it was worth it but it will be nice to rest for a little. I also look forward to getting back to the American dollar! European life seems to be a lot more expensive than the lifestyle we live and after switching currencies 3 times it will be nice to just stick to one currency! The only thing I fear about returning home is all of the work that I have piled up back at home! But I think once I get my day of rest, I will be able to get back into work mode and finish everything I need to do. I also need to figure out what I will be doing for the rest of my summer!
