I am finally home from Uruguay after a jam-packed and incredible 9 days! I experienced a lot of things and a lot of firsts. I experienced my first plane ride, tried so many new foods, and I made some incredible new friends and memories. Upon my arrival back to the states, I visited Raising Canes because lets face it, 9 days is a long time to not eat fried chicken or have some sweet tea. After this refreshing meal, I returned home to unpack. I found myself thinking about my experiences, and I realized just how much I would miss Uruguay.
Besides seeing some of the most beautiful ranches and farms, one of my very favorite parts of this trip was the people. Although I knew several of them, or at least had seen their faces, the time I spent learning alongside them was a ton of fun. I am extremely grateful to have met each one of them.
Meeting Bruno and the INIA staff was so cool. I learned so much about managing animals, especially cattle in another country and climate. Now that I’m back home, I can’t wait to apply what I’ve learned and share with others what an incredible opportunity I got to experience. Although I miss a lot of things about Uruguay, it is so nice to know I’ll always carry a little bit of Uruguay with me forever!
