This trip was going to be my first time out of the country, and I was extremely excited. However, there was this little part of me that was terrified. I had never flown in a plane for that long; I had never left my family for that long; I had never gone anywhere where I couldn’t speak their language; and I had never been anywhere outside of the United States. This was such a new experience for me, and I was worried about how everything would go, specifically when we arrived. I have never had issues in my life where I got homesick, but I was sure this was going to be the one case. When my parents dropped me off at the airport, and I met some of the people I was going to be going with, I felt a sense of peace within me. Everyone just simply came together like a family, and all my worries went away. This was truly a blessing for me.
