You remember that language barrier I mentioned before??

So this language barrier thing, yes it is very real. And extremely difficult to deal with. No one actually addressed to me how difficult it was going to be to go to a foreign country where the only word I knew how to say was “Hello”. After about the second day I had a real life melt down. I couldn’t speak except to my friends and it was just straight up hard. I’m so lucky that I had a couple friends in our group that knew how to speak French very well. By the end of the trip I learned a decent amount. It really helped having language classes every day before our real classes. Most of my vocabulary was food from learning the restaurant menus but hey.. that’s what matters, right?
