img_4453 I have, for many years, volunteered at a therapeutic riding facility where people with special cognitive, physical, and emotional needs ride horses to improve their development, so I have spent hundreds of hours with horses. I admire their beauty, their grace, and their strength, and I know the joy of riding and communing with nature on a trail. But today was different, a new experience, an adventure. I was riding a horse – in Costa Rica! My horse’s name exceeded my linguistic abilities, so I called him Mango. We bonded, traveled along the path together with our group, and stopped for a photo op. We rode to the top of a mountain, where we could see for miles. I am pretty sure I will remember this day for many years to come.
