Now that I have finally adjusted back to being in the states, I can properly reflect on the time that I spent in Costa Rica. What a time it was. I made some amazing memories with some great people and learned so much more about Costa Rican culture and the birds that live there.
Coming back home after spending three weeks in an amazing country with wonderful new friends is a lot harder than one might think. Sure, it was nice to sleep in my own bed. Of course I missed my family and friends, but those three weeks flew by. If money wasn’t a factor, I could have easily spent months there.
Studying abroad in Costa Rica made me realize that my problems at home weren’t so big after all. I hiked more and worried less. I didn’t need Wi-Fi, I just needed some friends and the world that surrounded us. This trip helped me grow as an individual and I will always be grateful for that.
It is so true when people say that traveling is the only thing you can spend money on that will make your life richer. Spending time in a foreign country gave me a new perspective on life and changed my soul forever.
Thank you, Costa Rica.
