Allow me to share with you a funny but potentially life threatening story about a girl named Jodie and a pigeon. Once we had landed in Montevideo, we were led to our hotel on a bus and checked in to our hotel rooms. Immediately after, we met in the lobby and proceeded to walk to go and find somewhere to get some lunch. I can’t speak for the rest of the group, but I was pretty delusional from the long overnight flight. That being said, our group was crossing the street when all of a sudden we hear a loud and frightening scream. I am going to be honest, I thought someone in our group had been hit by a car due to a lack of awareness from being up for so long. To my delight and surprise, that scream was not due to someone being run over, but from Jodie who had been scared by a pigeon. Yes, a pigeon. I suppose the pigeon had been in some uncomfortable radius to Jodie that she had felt the need to over dramatically scream and scare the rest of us in the process. Once we had learned that a pigeon had terrified her, we all busted out laughing. To our misfortune, there were not any more close encounters with Jodie and any kind of birds the rest of the trip, but I really wish there would have been.
