This week has already been an experience I will never forget. Touring the capital of Uruguay, trying interesting foods, visiting one of the national agriculture experiment stations, and touring beef, dairy, and sheep operations has filled our time here during this study abroad trip.

Picking up on Spanish has been the biggest struggle, but between our TA Eric and the rest of us we make it work. The Uruguayan people have opened their homes, ranches, and arms to us with great hospitality. I already admire their work ethic and laid back culture, not to mention their gratitude of tradition.

Uruguay is a beautiful country, and I look forward to the rest of the week where we will be touring rice, olive, and soybean farms, wind energy facilities, and a beef packing plant.
