Hi y’all,

There are some predictions that Tropical Storm Isaias will make landfall as a hurricane this weekend. As of right now, the predicted path has some of Southwest Georgia along the fringes, but that could always change should the storm turn.

In preparation for the storm, I would recommend taking pictures of your groves and getting some rough fruit counts before any inclement weather starts. After Hurricane Helene, having before pictures and a good estimate of crop load helped with damage assessments.

USDA also has an extensive hurricane preparedness guide for southeastern citrus growers with information on how to prepare and what to do post-storm.
