President, A & M Farms

Right now, standard agriculture is caught in a race to the bottom. For decades, the entire industry has been judged on one single metric: yield. How many pounds or boxes can we squeeze out of an acre? But in that race for pure volume, the actual quality and nutrient density of our food has steadily declined. My project is about challenging that status quo and pioneering a new standard for crop quality. Instead of just forcing plants to grow bigger using conventional chemical shortcuts, I am focusing on regenerative practices that heal and feed the soil biology. My goal is to demonstrate how biologically alive, healthy soil naturally pumps more vitamins, minerals, and actual nutrition into the final food product. By shifting the focus from ‘yield at all costs’ to ‘superior food nutrition,’ this project will show how a regenerative approach creates a premium product that is better for the land, better for the business, and most importantly, healthier for the consumer. It proves that the future of farming isn’t just about growing more food—it’s about growing better food.

“My goal is to challenge the traditional agricultural metric of ‘yield at all costs’ and pioneer a new standard for crop quality. This project demonstrates how implementing regenerative soil management practices elevates food nutrition, delivering a premium product that benefits both the land and the end consumer.”
