It looks like we are going to get some cold weather next week. Right now, the forecast here in Tifton is showing temperatures being down in the low 30s early next week. I’m seeing other places are expected to drop down into the upper 20s. We’ve had a lot of warm weather here lately (70s/80s), so the trees likely haven’t had much of an opportunity to acclimate to cooler weather. Please keep an eye on the forecast as it gets closer as its likely to change between now and then. I’d highly recommend checking that whatever freeze protection method you prefer is ready to go. Make sure irrigation lines are clear and running properly and that any tree/trunk protective coverings are out or ready to go.
