Boran YangM.S.May 2021Boran received his BS in Food Science and Technology from Shandong University of Technology, China. His research is focused on developing value-added products from Georgia-grown pomegranates. He will continue to work in the lab for his Ph.D. program, focusing on the feasibility of thermal camera to evaluate cooling and storage conditions of fresh produce.

While at LSU, she was a member of the Tiger Girl dance team, the Student Dietetic Association, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT). She is working on developing novel applications for Georgia-caught brown shrimp.

Her work was focused on the microencapsulation of probiotic Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG with jellyfish gelatin. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Biophysics at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
