Cleveland Tree Farm is based out of Fort Valley, Georgia. Cleveland Tree Farm is a nursery that grows evergreen shrubs and different species of trees. Cleveland only sells in wholesale. This means they only sell in large quantities. They are well known throughout the Eastern United States. Cleveland was founded in 1983 by David and Beth Cleveland. David started this facility after graduating from the University of Georgia with an Agronomy degree. They started with ten acres of land and now own and operate on one hundred and eighty acres of land. When it comes to their process, Cleveland propagates 85% of their young plants within their greenhouses. Depending on the type of plants, they are then moved to either a pot or a liner bed. After two years they are processed and planted in fields. Most of the business done is delivered, but some are picked up onsite. Cleveland sells trees ranging from 3” caliper to 6” caliper and evergreens from 5’ to 26’ tall. Some of the species they currently have consist of Ball & Burlap, Bare-Root Liners, and Brandywine Red Maple, while Golden Globe Ginko is the most well-known. I am looking forward to seeing a tree farm in person. As simple as it sounds, I have been exposed to a lot of aspects of agriculture, but not this one.
