My assigned stop for the Tour of Georgia for 2022 was over Lane Southern Orchards. Lane Southern Orchards is known for the local foods and products that come from the heart of Georgia. Founded in 1908, Lane Southern Orchards has continued to grow over the years and has reached 11,000 acres of peach orchards, pecan groves, strawberries, and 40 acres of apples at their farm in Reynolds, Georgia. Lane’s farm is also known for the authentic taste of Georgia’s local famous food. Everything from BBQ pork to homemade ice cream and different types of bread.
I thought it was interesting how Lane Southern Orchards’s roadside market strives to keep things fresh by changing its selection of farm-direct products with the seasons. Not only that, but they also provide jarred items that are accessible year-round and can be purchased in-store or online. I’m looking forward to going to the market and seeing all of the Georgia-grown foods and items.
