Updates of the happenings at the UGA Durham Horticulture Farm

    We have been so busy here at the Durham Farm that we have not updated our posts in some time (Plant of the Week to resume soon, too.) We are actively planting our vegetable research plots here at the Hort Farm, with tomatoes, watermelons, and cucumbers. We estimate that we will lay over seven miles…

  • Snow at the Farm

    The first snow of the season (and a couple of years) was a not too disruptive event for the farm. Warm greenhouses with snow arch frames easily withstood the accumulation of 3-4″ from the January 10th event. Let’s hope for a couple of more manageable snow days before the growing season begins.
