Commuters driving by the Durham Farm may have noticed the recent clearing of several rows of trees just below some of our vegetable plots. These trees are pecans (Carya illinoiensis) that are no longer in active evaluations and so they will be cleared to make room for new research plots. What will go in this area? Could it be more watermelons? More peaches? American chestnuts? Keep checking in for updates!
