Mark Green, a former Republican Congressman from Wisconsin and ambassador to Tanzania has been confirmed as administrator for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

Green was endorsed by lawmakers from both parties and many nonprofit aid groups.

USAID administers more than $20 billion in foreign assistance each year, including assistance in health, education, environment, democracy and economic programs. The Feed the Future Peanut & Mycotoxin Innovation lab is one of those USAID-funded programs.
