National leaders will celebrate the accomplishments of international development programs including the Feed the Future innovation labs this week at the White House Summit on Global Development.

President Obama and other government officials will welcome representatives of Feed the Future, Power Africa, Global Health, the Open Government Partnership, PEPFAR 2.0 and 3.0, the Young African Leaders’ Initiative, Let Girls Learn and others on Wednesday.

Peanut & Mycotoxin Innovation Lab Director David Hoisington was invited to the summit at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C. and will attend.

The U.S. Agency for International Development says the summit will focus on “celebrating and reflecting on the Obama Administration’s commitment and contribution to global development and the progress we have made together.”

Congress passed the Global Food Security Act on July 6 in a bipartisan vote, making Feed the Future a part of federal law, once the president signs the bill.
