Zia Williamson graduated with a Ph.D. in Entomology from the University of Georgia in Spring 2026, completing her research in our lab. Her work focused on pollinator ecology in turf and ornamental systems, contributing valuable insights into sustainable landscape management and biodiversity conservation. During her doctoral studies, Zia demonstrated strong leadership through impactful research, student mentorship, and extension engagement. Following graduation, she began her career as an Assistant Professor at Mississippi State University, serving as a turfgrass and ornamental specialist, where she continues to advance research and outreach in urban and managed ecosystems.
