Hello! My name is Navdeep Kaur. My academic journey began in Punjab, India, where I was inspired by the region’s rich agricultural landscape and my early fascination with insects. This passion led me to pursue a B.Sc. in Agriculture (Hons.) and an M.Sc. in Agriculture (Entomology) from Guru Nanak Dev University, Punjab. During my undergraduate and master’s studies, I gained extensive knowledge in agricultural systems and entomological concepts, specializing in areas such as apiculture, insect ecology, integrated pest management, and commercial entomology. My master’s research focused on the effects of abiotic factors on the morphology and physiology of worker honey bees, Apis mellifera L. As an Assistant Professor of Entomology, I taught various courses on insects while actively engaging in research projects on pollinators, insect ecology and integrated pest management. At UGA, I will work on understanding the ecological interactions and adaptive mechanisms of Thrips parvispinus. Looking ahead, my career goal is to contribute to the field of entomology through both research and teaching. Beyond academia, I enjoy socializing, traveling, cooking, and exploring new environments.
