Welcome to the Jespersen Lab website. Our lab primarily focuses on turfgrass physiology and researching how plants respond to environmental stresses including heat, drought, salinity, and light-stress. Our goal is to better understand how plants respond to challenging environments and the underlying mechanisms of abiotic stress tolerance. Our research approach is to combine whole plant physiology with molecular biology to better understand differences among plants and associated performance under stressful conditions. Working with collaborators we hope to develop plants and landscapes that are more resilient and sustainable in the face of environmental stresses. Our lab is based on the UGA Griffin Campus.
