The fifth Plant Genomics and Gene Editing Congress is coming up in March and two grants are available to help offset expenses for early career researchers to present their work. The presentations will be given as part of the main program, providing a 15-minute platform to share research with a diverse and engaged audience.
Selected researchers will receive a complimentary pass for both days of the conference as well as a grant of up to £750 to contribute to travel and accommodation expenses.
Grant applications are due Sept. 7. Follow this link to apply.
This meeting attracts 300 academic and industry delegates and covers the latest in gene editing methods, as well as exploring developments in NGS and omic technologies used for plant-based research in crop trait development, epigenetics, phenotyping, plant microbiome, and disease resistance. Speakers also discuss tools to overcome bottlenecks and enable successful data analysis and management.
Presentations concentrate on, but are not limited to plant, crop and forestry research ranging from wheat, barley, maize and rice to potato, tomato, Arabidopsis, biofuels and various fruits in order to attract delegates across Europe and beyond.
Last year’s speakers included:
- Richard Visser, Professor, Chair and Head of Plant Breeding, Wageningen UR, The Netherlands
- Franziska Turck, Group Leader, Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research, Germany
- Mario Caccamo, Professor and Head of Crop Bioinformatics, NIAB, UK
