IFDC, the International Fertilizer Development Center, has a training scheduled November 6-10 in Arusha, Tanzania.

Policy makers and government officials, scientists, private-sector leaders (such as representatives of agro-dealer associations and regional farmers’ organizations), and others would benefit from the workshop.

Sessions will cover:

  • Identifying chemical and physical properties of fertilizers that determine quality;
  • Identifying external factors (not fertilizer properties) related to fertilizer quality;
  • Applying methodologies to assess fertilizer quality at company, regional, or national levels; and
  • Contributing to the design and implementation of national or regional regulations that should be in place to ensure quality in the fertilizer markets.

Early registration by 6 September is $1,500.
