The Horticulture Innovation Lab at UC Davis is looking for  a new program officer. The position is based at UC Davis and responsible for managing three international centers (in Honduras, Thailand, and Zambia) and one domestic demonstration center on the UC Davis campus.

The position is responsible for project support, management and general coordination of various international, grant-funded projects. Responsible for management of three international and one domestic centers, as well as other special projects as needed, and support of program activities or information needs required by the management team. The job involves developing new business opportunities for the Horticulture Innovation Lab, coordinating grant writing, drafting needs assessments, and providing day-to-day management and administration of Management Entity-led projects.

The Horticulture Innovation Lab builds international partnerships for fruit and vegetable research that improves livelihoods of smallholder farmers in developing countries. The program is funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development and led by a team at the University of California, Davis, as part of the U.S. government’s Feed the Future initiative. The program’s work is guided by goals to ensure gender equity, improve information access, target innovative technologies and increase research capacity.
