The Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Collaborative Research on Sustainable Intensification Lab (SIIL) supports research, knowledge sharing, and capacity building activities in relation to smallholder farming systems focused on ecological intensification in Africa and Asia (Senegal, Burkina Faso, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Bangladesh and Cambodia). These efforts will increase farm productivity from existing croplands; improve food production, safety, and quality; improve nutrition; and raise net income while reducing reliance on pesticides and fertilizers, reducing emissions of greenhouse gases, and leading to efficient and resilient farming systems that protect or enhance natural resources. The Assistant/Associate Director is part of an eight-person ME team and has a 50% management and 50% research commitment.
The AD will serve as the administrative officer alongside the program director and will oversee the ME in organizing activities to facilitate technical and administrative goals of our program. The AD will conduct innovative research and lead responsibility for the program’s quantitative economic impact assessment and monitoring and evaluation. This responsibility involves economic, social and environmental performance reporting of all sub-awards and aggregating these research findings to quantify the impact of SIIL.
The AD will supervise the SIIL Regional Coordinators in regards to in-country monitoring of research implementation and performance and is expected to aggressively seek and secure extramural funds for SIIL.
